Call me crazy, but I’ve noticed a lot of similarities about our actual real, non-magical president elect and Harry Potter, the boy who didn’t die.
First of all, he’s uniting us against a common villain.
I’ll let you decide - Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove…? Take your pick from theĀ the men who have been in charge, persecuting witches and muggles alike.
This whole election has played out like the grand finale of a science fiction epic. Is it just me, or does it seem like the republican party is filled with death eaters? I mean let’s look at the facts here.

Qualities of a Death Eater
- One who secretly (or openly) espouses the virtues of a great and powerful ruler in a simpering demonstration of blind loyalty
- One who keeps their eyes on the ultimate prize — world domination, or at least their own island somewhere
- One who professes to control and/or dominate others for “their own good”
- One who incites riots/hatred and/or vindictiveness because they feed on the unhappiness of others, it elevates their own self-importance and/or it’s just kinda fun
So yes, my friends, VoldeCain has been vanquished and Bush is a mere figurehead of his former self. We have danced in the streets of America. We have risen, we have spoken, we have been heard!
But…(you knew this was coming)…I am looking uneasily over my shoulder (just as our sweet, courageous Mr. Potter did when he bested Voldemort that very first time) and I am feeling oh so cautious. Because, and you know it’s true, evil will recover and when it does, it may take a very different form.

AAHHHHHHHHH!! Save us, Harry! SAVE US! Don’t let her come back in 2012!! Oops, I mean Mr. Obama.

(Wow, I just realized how much I miss Harry Potter. Does anyone know when the next movie is coming out?)
